Overview of Research Course

Researcher and educator course

It is a course that improves specialty of the nursing domain/area for the development of research ability. The school has four domains and seven areas of nursing Administration, clinical practical nursing (adult acute stage, maternity, pediatric and psychiatric nursing studies), community health nursing and disaster nursing.
The number of units required for the completion of this course is 32 or over.

Special nurse course (Certified Nurse Specialist: CNS)

This is a course for students who aim to become certified nurse specialist in the future. This course is proved in accordance with the standards for certified nurse specialist program, which intend to maintain and improve the quality of certified nurse specialist with highly advanced expertise and skills. Three areas of Women’s Health Nursing, Clild Health Nursing and psychiatric Mental Health nursing studies have certified nurse specialist course.
The number of units required for the completion of this course is 32 or over for maternity nursing study and 34 units or over for pediatric and psychiatric nursing studies.
The curriculum of the certified nurse specialist course of this school follows the standards for certified nurse specialist program defined by Japan Association of Nursing Programs in Universities. The curriculum of certified nurse specialist course becomes the subject of the assessment by Japan Association of Nursing Programs in Universities in the second year and later after the start of the course.

 

Application guideline

This school received the certification for certified nurse specialist program for maternity and psychiatric nursing studies from Japan Association of Nursing Programs in Universities in 2012. In 2014, the program for pediatric nursing study was certified. When it passes the assessment, the program is certified retroactively from the fiscal year that the junior students started taking the course. Students who completed this course with five years or longer of practical training including the experience in the area of special nursing for three years or longer are eligible to take Certified Nurse Specialist Exam, which is conducted once a year by Japanese Nursing Association.
